Funded through the Philadelphia
Corporation for Aging (PCA) and the Catholic
Charities Appeal, the five Senior
Community Centers provide a variety of services to ensure
that the social, recreational, health, and nutritional
needs of older adults are met through accessible neighborhood
sites.
What we offer

• Transportation
• Benefits and Entitlement Counseling
• Emergency Assistance
• Socialization and recreational groups and activities
• Educational opportunities, including computer training
• Health Promotion and Prevention Programs

Senior Community Service Employment Program(SCSEP)
SCSEP is a federally funded program through a grant from
the National
Council on Aging to help older adults
find employment.
SCSEP offers:
• on-the-job training
• referrals for additional classroom training (if appropriate)
• referrals to employers in the community
On on-the-job training consists of an assignment to
train at a government or non-profit agency for twenty
(20) hours per week. Participants are paid a minimum
wage for the time spent in on-the-job training, attending
approved classes or program meetings, job search or otherwise
engaged in authorized training activities.
To qualify for the program a person must
be fifty-five (55) years old, a resident of Philadelphia
and meet federal
low-income guidelines.

Parish and Cluster Activities for Older Adults
Catholic Social Service staff is available to assist
parishes and clusters that are interested in developing
programs and activities for older parishioners developing
resource information for older adults for parish staff
and volunteers. For more information on how CSS can
